Saif Ali Khan stabbing case: The Real Story

On January 16, 2025, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked in his Mumbai residence during a home invasion. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. when Khan intervened upon hearing a disturbance between his domestic staff and an intruder. In the ensuing confrontation, Khan sustained six stab wounds, including two deep cuts near his spine, as well as injuries to his neck and hands. He was promptly taken to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery to remove a knife lodged in his thoracic spinal cord and to repair spinal fluid leakage. Following the procedure, Khan was reported to be in stable condition and was discharged five days later.

Mumbai Police arrested a 30-year-old man, identified as Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, in connection with the attack. Shehzad, believed to be a Bangladeshi national who had entered India illegally and was living under the alias Vijay Das, was working for a housekeeping agency at the time of the incident. Authorities allege that Shehzad intended to commit theft at Khan's residence. Investigations are ongoing to determine if he had any accomplices, and police are conducting facial recognition analysis to match Shehzad with CCTV footage from the building.

Khan's wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their two sons were present in the apartment during the incident but were unharmed.
